Your First Visit
What to Expect
We understand that visiting a new eye doctor can feel uncertain, especially if you have not had a comprehensive exam in several years. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable and informed from the moment you walk in. Dr. Mital Patel and Dr. Bhumi Patel take time to explain each test and answer your questions throughout the exam.
Plan to spend about 60-90 minutes with us for your first comprehensive exam. This allows time for advanced diagnostic imaging, refraction testing, a thorough discussion of your results, and frame selection if you need new eyewear. We never rush through exams because catching early signs of conditions like glaucoma and macular degeneration requires careful evaluation.
Check-In & Paperwork
Arrive 15 minutes early to complete any remaining forms. Our friendly staff will verify your insurance and answer any questions.
Pre-Testing
Our technicians will perform initial tests including eye pressure, digital imaging, and auto-refraction to gather baseline data.
Doctor Examination
Dr. Patel will conduct a thorough examination, discuss your vision needs, and answer all your questions in detail.
Optical Consultation
If needed, our opticians will help you select the perfect eyewear from our curated collection of frames and lenses.

Common questions
Clear answers help you move forward with confidence.
How long does an appointment take?
Most visits are designed to feel unhurried. The exact time depends on your needs and any testing recommended. If you are short on time, tell us when booking so we can plan appropriately.
What should I bring?
Bring your photo ID, insurance card (if applicable), and your current glasses or contacts. If you have medical conditions like diabetes, a medication list is also helpful.
Will my eyes be dilated?
Dilation is recommended when it helps us view the back of the eye clearly. We will explain why it is suggested and what to expect, including temporary light sensitivity.
