Patient Guidance
What Type of Eye Appointment Do I Need?
Classic Vision Care uses a few simple visit paths to help patients get to the right kind of appointment. This page is a routing guide, not a diagnosis, and the team can still help if you are unsure what to book.
Routine Vision Care
This is usually the right starting point for annual eye exams, updated glasses prescriptions, and contact lens updates when there are no urgent medical eye symptoms.
- Annual eye exam
- Updated glasses prescription
- Updated contact lens prescription
- No acute medical eye red flags reported
Medical Eye Concerns
Some requests look routine at first but are better handled on the medical side. Dry eye symptoms and other complaints that appear medical instead of routine vision care usually start here.
- Dry eye symptoms
- Burning, watering, irritation, or tired eyes
- Blurry vision or other symptoms that appear medical
- Diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease
Same-Day Acute Concerns
These symptoms may need same-day attention during office hours.
- New flashes or floaters within the past 3 weeks
- Eye pain
- Something stuck in the eye causing pain
- Eye trauma or injury
- Sudden vision loss or partial loss of vision
- Sudden double vision
- Chemical exposure to the eye
After-Hours Emergency Guidance
If urgent symptoms get worse before your appointment, come in. After hours, go to the emergency room.
This page is meant to help with routing and expectation-setting. Eye emergencies still require real-time clinical judgment.
Dry Eye and Myopia Notes
Dry Eye
Dry eye is evaluated first. Patients do not need to self-select IPL, radio frequency, BlephEx, punctal plugs, or other named treatments before evaluation.
Initial dry-eye evaluations can begin at either office. Advanced dry-eye treatments are performed in Kennesaw.
Myopia Control
Myopia control is typically handled as an assessment-led program. The goal is to determine whether a child is a good fit for options such as MiSight, Ortho-K, atropine, or multifocal lenses.
